What do you think of the one and only movie of DBGT?
I think it's by far the worst of them all. I wanted to see your opinions.

I don't like it at all. It's excruciating to watch. >_< I would rather jump in a pit of spiders and centipedes than watch it. If anyone knows me, I hate those kind of bugs, which means this movie is HORRIFIC.

Ohhh, I think it had nothing to do with DB.
Probably what makes you think that is that you see a mini version of Goku as the main character, having his firsct real contact with the world.

Anyway, I want more opinions!

I haven't seen the movie, but I've seen Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr., and heard a bit about them. From what I can tell the movie really sucks... but has its somewhat good moments.

Well, almost every movie has good and bad parts. At least parts that are better than others. I think you should watch the movie to make your own opinion.
I'm just telling you it isn't great lool.

I didn't like the movie because it left a lot of questions. They skipped a generation of Z fighters jeez. You get to see the original Goku for a few seconds though. :=]:

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

It's the best of DBGT but the worst of all the DB related movies.

The best of DBGT?
Lol well yeah, considering it is the only DBGT movie. :p

Ana, it doesn't bother me that they skipped a generation of Z Fighters, that was the point of the movie, what bothers me is that they made someone like Goku Jr lose all of Goku's characteristics, he was too normal before he had the big journey with his friend. The movie didn't have a DBZ feel to it, it looked like a regular anime movie.

,Jan 20 2008, 09:47 AM] It's the best of DBGT but the worst of all the DB related movies.

Agreed.

People will say: "But there are no main characters, no fighting, no..." - seriously, GT fights all sucked and another worthless foe who ends up being blown up by a Spirit bomb wouldn't make a good movie at all.

This movie had a nice, nostalgic atmosphere and I must say this is the first time that GT manages to capture that Dragonball atmosphere. It was interesting to see that Goku Jr. isn't a valiant hero at his young age already but just a crybaby. A welcome change.
Also, as strange as it sounds, it was kind of an interesting concept having none of the Z fighters in the movie (except Pan and Goku for a couple of seconds). It's like they were all gone a long time ago and now only legends of them remain, threatening to be forgotten. Seeing Goku's home in the end of the movie (Granpa Gohan's hut) and those yellow fields made me feel a bit nostalgic and as strange as this will sound, the GT music actually fits in here.

To conclude - an OK movie, possibly better than even the DBZ movies IMO, yet it still doesn't go near the quality of the series.

Now that we have established my intentions, I'd like to point out that Goku Jr. is a coward and a baby.
This is by far the worst of all the movies i've seen.

if they had given a quick, short, glimpse into everyones life from dragon ball up to that point on where they were in life, and than made the world seem like it had grown and changed, so that there was some depth to it and it's characters, than people would have loved it for a lot of reasons. it's biggest problem is that it didn't really offer anything new except an almost "what if" scenario for the future, just because, like DBZ was doing by the end, it only focused on Goku and Vegeta, except now it was their great great grand kids or some crap like that. it was too short to intorduce new main characters, while removing the old ones, which it did, except for pan......and why did Pan look exactly the same, except for some bags under her eyes? she would have been taller or something, she's part sayian, they don't age right?!? they don't even bother showing you a picture of their family together through the ages, no family portraits, cause you wouldn't be able to fetching tell who's who, since the animaters of GT draw relatives as if they are the same person. :P they did leave open to many gaps as well, they should have thought it out better and made more depth. thats how I look at it.

I hate this movie/special so... so much.

The last thing I wanted to see this series end with was everyone dead except a 110 year old Pan, more character clones, and some random fat kid.

The last episode of GT was bad enough, did they really have to drag it out even further? The could've at least added a rivalry or friendship between Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr. Even if they had, I still don't think it would have been all that entertaining. Even the villain was boring.

She's 110-115 years old, so she probably shrank as Finta said.

In the Super Exciting Guide- Character Volume, Toriyama says that a saiyan's life-span is about as long as a human's. They just keep their youthful appearance longer and rapidly deteriorate at a certain age.

It doesn't explain why she lived so much longer than everyone else though. Where are Goku Jr.'s parents, grand parents, and great grandparents? Did they all die? I find that hard to believe.
